Barbara specializes in helping clients work through early childhood trauma. She currently has a full private practice in Novato, CA and also helps clients contact qualified Bodynamic therapists in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Barbara's Background: Barbara was born and raised in Marin County, across the Golden Gate from San Francisco. She graduated from the University of San Francisco with a BS degree and practiced nursing for many years at Marin General hospital. While working as a nurse and raising three boys, Barbara commuted to San Francisco for several years to study psychology and obtained her Master's degree. Today her three sons are adults out on their own but she now can play with her new grandchildren! (see below)

Credentials and Experience: Barbara Renshaw is licensed by the State of California as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Marriage Family Therapist (MFT - formerly called "MFCC"). After completing years of clinical work and advanced training with the founders of the parent non-profit organization, the Bodynamic Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark, she has been Certified as a Bodynamic Analyst (CBA) and is a trainer.
Barbara is also a founding member of the non-profit Bodynamic Institute of somatic developmental psychology in the USA and serves on its its Board of Directors. She has conducted a private psychotherapy practice in Novato, California for over 10 years and teaches in the US and Canada.
